Girls Planet 999 is supposed to be composed of
The first voting ranking
2nd voting
In the end on the 2nd voting, the selected C and J trainees got a lot of media attention and made it to the debut unity
And the trainee who's never made it to the top 9 even once and who almost had 0 screentime was Hue Ning Bahiyyih
She had the most viewed fancam of the entire program (3M views)
In the most recent O.O.O mission evaluation, her own fancam was the overwhelming #1 (1M views)
33 Koreans (K group), 33 Chinese (C group) and 33 Japanese (J group)
They're using the f*cked up app UNIVERSE with low accessibility rate to vote
The cell vote is consisted of 1 of each KCJ members and in total 3 people per cell
So K group 3 people, C group 3 people, J group 3 people = total 9 individual votes
This is the quota system(?) rule
The issue, is that in the first half of the program, the K group had a lot more equally talented people, so compared to the J and C group, the K group received more even amounts of votes across trainees
4. Choi Yujin 8. Kang Yeseo 9. Kim Chaehyun
The first voting ranking
That's why the Korean trainees' rankings were inevitably lower
On the other end, there were fewer talented J and C trainees, so the few talented gathered a lot more attention
5. Choi Yujin 9. Kim Chaehyun
2nd voting
In the end on the 2nd voting, the selected C and J trainees got a lot of media attention and made it to the debut unity
There were 4 Chinese trainees, 3 Japanese trainees and only 2 Korean trainees
To the point where a Japanese participant even said "I wish there were more K group trainees"
The votes reset and now, you could only pick 3 people at a time.
1 Korean, 1 Chinese and 1 Japanese
The results
2. Kim Dayeon 5. Choi Yujin 9. Seo Youngeun
The 3rd voting
The Chinese members decreased by 2. Shen Xiaoting who had no controversies (doesn't support One China nor Xinjiang cotton), was obviously the overwhelming #1 in the C group
And there were 4 Japanese trainees who were super stable who went up (their votes were consistently high and they consistently received attention)
There were 3 Koreans who went up, but right until the finale, we were never able to make a Korean #1
And then
11. Kim Chaehyun 12. Kang Yeseo 13. Hue Ning Bahiyyih 15. Kim Bora 17. Kim Sooyeon
25. Kwon Maya Among the 18 members who made it to the finale, half of the Koreans made it to the top 18 and 3 of them made it to the top 9.
You're probably asking
"Isn't this a good thing?"
No... Because the quota system got cancelled and now, you can only pick 1 person
Korean votes are going to be separated between the remaining Koreans, and if many Koreans survive, of course, even one pick will be "divided."
This means that we have a high chance that the final top will be consisted of 5 Chinese and 4 Japanese.
In other words, the probability of Koreans winning first place among the nine final debut groups has become "extremely slim"
Of the nine right now, about only two are considered stable.
She had the most viewed fancam of the entire program (3M views)
In the most recent O.O.O mission evaluation, her own fancam was the overwhelming #1 (1M views)
If it's 1 pick in many indicators, global votes are expected to flock to Hue Ning Bahiyyih
(I'm not saying she's at fault for having a brother in a popular KPOP boy group. But the PDs knew that this situation could be detrimental to other Korean trainees)
Ultimately, no Koreans will have been able to make it to the #1 even once in the entire program.
And although it's a KPOP group, at most 2~3 members out of 9 will possibly be Korean
original post: here
1. That's why I'm wondering why are we always bringing foreigners in this? Even for a Korean only program like Produce, they were able to gain popularity
2. I actually wish that not a single Korean debuts in this
3. But since the beginning of this program, I don't even see a future to this debut. There's not a single hype around this show;;
4. Just remove all the Koreans and debut this group in China and Japanㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
5. Why are you guys even worried about this? Mnet knows the situation and they'll just rig it in the end to move the Korean trainees up anywaysㅋㅋㅋ
6. A flop group
7. Imagine being content to debut in a group like this... Hm...ㅠㅠ I feel bad for them... I didn't watch the show, but I'll vote for them..
8. Just make a foreigner group and debut them overseas
9. How many people are even watching the show?
10. Isn't this group obviously going to flop? Do they still see any benefits in debuting them????
