This is what he said on JTBC's Pet-Kage
"It's really admirable to adopt a dog from a shelter. Frankly speaking, pet experts won't ever recommend adopting a rescue to a first-time dog owner." He continued, "Rescues take a long time to heal and adapt because it was hurt before. Then the owner who isn't used to dogs gets hurt and the dog would get hurt once again." - CR: Allkpop
Right now, people are going crazy on JTBC's comment section
- So are you encouraging pet shops?
- Is this a program that promotes shelter pets as pets that are not raiseable?
- They are making prejudices about shelter pets in front of everyone... I was doubting my eyes
- So people who've never raised a pet should buy dogs from the pet shop?
- A program and a cast that's outdated when it comes to the current generation
- Is this really a program made for 'pets'?
Yeah, I know abandoned dogs are hurt and less social.
It is true that a qualified person should raise them
And you're probably like that too, start by adopting an abandoned dog first
I have an abandoned dog lying next to me right now, and I'm fostering them
Abandoned pets are children who are hungry for human touch
They wish that someone would touch them at least once.
These are the kids that want to be hugged
But Kim Heechul came out as a celebrity
It's so sad and frustrating seeing him only encourage consumption from pet shops...
I'm not forcing him to keep abandoned animals.
But at least I don't think it's right to encourage pet shop consumption on TV...

Contextually speaking, when Kim Heechul said that it was hard to adapt an abandoned dog, he didn't mean that we should consume from pet shops > he said that it was hard to adapt rescued animals but even if experts don't recommend them, people who raise rescues are impressive < he said it as a compliment. I don't know who was the one who said that it was hard to adapt rescued animals but whether that's a fact or not, people who are spinning his words into him promoting pet shops are too extreme

Kim Heechul has always been careless so I'm not even surprised

I do feel like he talked too recklessly... not all abandoned dogs are like that.... our puppy was rescued but he's seriously pure, likes people are is so lovelyㅜㅜㅜ

But I can kinda get the nuance in his words... There are a lot of abandoned dogs who got hurt so you need to put in as much time and effort to change their hearts. So the owners who made the effort are really impressive. It seems like that was his point but his delivery was a bit reckless..

He's trying to praise owners who raise abandoned animals so why are people being so purposely oba...?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Superstar Hank who has over 2.17M followers on Insta.. I'm sure that the other dogs from the post are doing the same but Hank goes on walks, plays with his family and meets his doggy friends every day. I'm so proud seeing how much love he receives from Rose ㅠㅠ Honestly, I see so many celebrities go do Insta lives with their pedigree dogs but never bring them out on walks. It's so obvious that they are raising dogs just for show. I hope that there would be more celebrities who bring positive influences
