Article: Anxious high school seniors "the cursed generation"... incoming freshmen "giving up on college"
Source: Han via Naver
1. [+771, -18] I think college is going to become meaningless in the future.. since it's all online now
2. [+197, -16] I feel bad for the kids born in the 2000s... they missed out on school trips all through elementary, middle, and high school because of the Sewol Ferry, and now their education is looking sparse. What else can they do but stay home?
3. [+151, -10] Calling them the "cursed generation" makes me really sad~ I already feel sad for the seniors as it is
4. [+84, -6] Let's not call them that. These students are already so depressed, how would you like it if people called you cursed too? It's time for the adults to correct kids when they think negative thoughts and start using more positive language.
5. [+57, -4] It's not just the high school seniors and college freshmen who are suffering. Kids in elementary, middle, and high school aren't able to attend class normally or make friends... it's especially worse for the incoming elementary kids because they don't even have their Hangeul down yet. We really need to overhaul the education system. Fire teachers and professors who aren't passionate or skilled. It's unfair that teachers are telling kids to watch EBS at home while they collect their paychecks every month on top of their pension.
6. [+40, -8] I have no sympathy for high school seniors. They always complained about how hard it was to study for the college entrance exam on top of all the extracurricular activities they had to do but now all extracurricular and club activities are canceled because of the virus so they can focus on the exam on their own time. Unfortunately, all I see are lazy students wasting their time. If anything, I feel bad for the super seniors who have no where to go with all of the after school academies being closed.
7. [+31, -0] My son's been playing games all night and sleeping all day. I feel sick just looking at him.
8. [+29, -3] College freshmen should not feel bad about not being able to participate in clubs and club trips. Most scholarship recipients have never been a part of such clubs!! If you want a better life after college, stay in the library. These four years of your life will determine the next 40 years.
9. [+18, -1] Life is always about the ups and downs. Find strength, high school seniors.
10. [+10, -0] I feel bad for the seniors for what they have to immediately face and I feel bad for the freshmen and sophomore since they're not really learning anything right now ㅠㅠ
